Life is a Puzzle is one of our all-time favorite illustrations! This effect can begin as a high-energy “game show” feel, yet easily creates a smooth transition into a gospel message. This illusion works well for small and large audience. Using both on-stage volunteers and several moments of interaction with the audience combined with highly visible pieces creates an effect that really plays big.
You begin by introducing a game called “Life is a Puzzle”. It can be puzzling trying to figure out what is most important in life. Each of these puzzle pieces have pictures of what seem people might say is most important. Two volunteers each select a number from a bag. The puzzle pieces that match the chosen numbers are placed together on a stand. The puzzle pieces that were not chosen are turned around and shown to have pictures of sports, money, and friends. These things are not what is most important in life. When the stand with the selected puzzle pieces is turned around it is shown to have a picture that represents Jesus Christ. In Jesus, we find meaning in life. We find eternal hope. We find the answers to the questions that matter most!
